At Welsh Labour’s spring conference in Llandudno, the First Minister accused the Conservatives of damaging the reputation of the UK around the world following the failure to agree on a way forward on Brexit and decade of austerity.

UK party leader, Jeremy Corbyn MP, told delegates Labour has”been consistently trying to find a way through the deadlock….”We cannot remain stuck in this loop for another six months. I urge the Prime Minister not to see this extension (of the Article 50 period to October 31st) as another chance to flog her dead deal”.

Despite this, there was no outright indication of support for a second referendum on Brexit and no significant policy announcements. The party also failed to reach a consensus on electoral reform in the Senedd.
