The Conservative party faces a choice between selecting Boris Johnson or the current Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to be the next UK Prime Minister after several rounds of voting reduced the list of candidates to just two.
Last week, the former Conservative leader in the Senedd, Andrew RT Davies AM (Con, South Wales Central), expressed support for Boris Johnson and called for the next Prime Minister to devolve air passenger duty to Wales, invest in broadband and consider scrapping the Wales Office.
Leader of the Opposition, Paul Davies AM (Con, Preseli Pembs.), has also announced his backing for Johnson, saying he’s been convinced that a “No Deal Brexit” was now achievable.
Johnson and Hunt will to a ballot of Tory members, with the winner set to be announced on 22nd July 2019.
