Last Friday (March 29th), the UK House of Commons rejected the Prime Minister’s withdrawal agreement with the EU for the third time in succession. MPs voted 288-344 against.

While the defeat was hardly unexpected, the Prime Minister has hinted that the withdrawal agreement will go before MPs for the fourth time. With the deadlock still yet to be broken following another round of failed indicative votes in the House of Commons yesterday (April 1st), there’s the prospect of a UK General Election or the UK taking part in this year’s European Parliament elections – which would probably be seen by the rest of the world as a humiliation.

As things currently stand, the UK is still set to leave the EU on April 12th 2019 without a deal.
