The UK Prime Minister announced that former Scottish Officer minister, Lord Dunlop, will lead a review into the relationship between the UK Government (and in particular the Welsh & Scottish offices) and the devolved administrations.
The review, reportedly, will ensure that UK Government departments work properly in non-devolved areas to ensure devolution “works”.
Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, described the review as “a desperate act” as Conservative fears grow over the possible impact a “No Deal” Brexit will have on support for Scottish independence, while the First Minister of Wales said, “the very last thing we need is an outbreak of colonialism”.
The Prime Minister assured the devolved administrations that currently devolved powers wouldn’t be included as part of the review.
