The chief executive of Cwm Taf Morgannwg health board, Allison Williams, resigned on 22nd August.
The health board has come under close focus following an investigation into poor standards of care and treatment at maternity units at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant and Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil which resulted in maternity services at the board being placed into special measures earlier this year.
The former chief executive had been on sick leave since June 2019 and her response to scrutiny by AMs had been criticised. News of her resignation was broadly welcomed by local and national politicians alike.
