Several householders in the north-west have complained that work undertaken on their homes under the Welsh Government Arbed energy efficiency programme has caused damage and left their properties discoloured.
BBC Wales reports that “green slime” has appeared on some houses in the Gwynedd villages of Deiniolen and Carmel following insulation work and it’s also reported to have caused damp problems.
Sian Gwenllian AM (Plaid, Arfon) said: “It’s a matter of accountability. This was a Welsh Government scheme and the Welsh Government needs to take responsibility for the shoddy workmanship that’s happened and they need to sort it out.”
The Welsh Government said the problems were “isolated” and an independent review is due to report back by the end of 2019.
