Nick Ramsay AM (Con, Monmouth) has dropped a lawsuit against the Welsh Conservative leader, Paul Davies AM (Con, Preseli Pembs.), over the former’s suspension in January 2020 following his arrest and release without charge for an undisclosed disturbance at his home.
ITV Wales reported the legal action cost £40,000, which the Welsh Conservatives have agreed to pay Nick Ramsay along with a token £2 settlement.
A few weeks ago, the High Court overturned Nick Ramsay’s suspension as a breach of the party’s own rules. However, he remains suspended from the party itself and earlier today BBC Wales reported that legal action could still happen.
