The First Minister has warned the public that plans for further relaxation of lockdown restrictions – including the lifting of advice to remain within 5-miles of home – could be put in jeopardy because of irresponsible behaviour by a minority.

On 25th June 2020, a brawl broke out at Ogmore-by-Sea in the Vale of Glamorgan during a pre-arranged mass gathering, resulting in at least 2 arrests. South Wales Police said, “We believe that a large number of youths have travelled to the area from various areas of south Wales to become involved in serious, violent disorder.”

While being a sign that lockdown restrictions are breaking down, at the weekly press conference the First Minister said incidents such as these, “threaten the health of people in Wales and undermine the sacrifices the majority of people have made during this ongoing crisis.”
