Yesterday, the First Minister announced that two families can join together to form a single extended household and visit each other (not anybody else) indoors from July 6th 2020.
The current guidance to remain within 5 miles of home is expected to be lifted at the same time.
At a press conference, Mark Drakeford said: “Grandparents will be able to see and hold their grandchildren again. It will help support many working parents with informal childcare over the summer months and it will also support those who are caring for others.”
However, he warned that while there were no limits to the number of people in either household who can be part of the arrangements, families should think carefully about who they “join” with as they won’t be able to substitute for other people.
If anyone in the extended household/bubble becomes ill, the entire extended household will have to self-isolate for 14 days.
